Faith isn’t about having it all together. It’s about being honest with God. The father in this story didn’t pretend to be perfect; he brought both his belief and his doubts to Jesus. He admitted his struggle and asked for help.
That’s exactly what God invites us to do. We don’t have to hide our fears, our questions, or our confusion. Faith is not pretending we have all the answers—it’s being honest, bringing our whole selves to God, and trusting him to meet us there. When we do, he transforms our hearts.
Think about moments in your life when you’ve felt unsure or afraid. What if, instead of running from those feelings, you brought them to Jesus and let him walk through them with you? That honesty opens the door for him to show up in ways we might not expect.
What doubts do you need to bring to Jesus today? How can you be honest with him about your fears, questions, or confusion?
Pray: Jesus, thank you for loving me even when I’m unsure. Help me bring all of who I am—faith and doubt alike—to you. Strengthen me where unbelief tries to take hold, and meet me with your presence.
